Bangalore Air Cargo Complex – Professional handling of International Cargo

Appointed as Custodians Under Section 45 of the Customs Act 1962, MSIL, through its Bangalore Air Cargo Complex, now handles over 55,000 MTs of import and export cargo annually – a giant leap from a modest 1000 MTs during its first year of operation in the year 1977.
To accommodate the ever increasing volume of air cargo and to serve the Exporters and Importers of the State better, MSIL has been continuously augmenting the warehousing space with matching increase in infrastructural facilities. A major landmark has been the establishment of a separate new Integrated Export Cargo Terminal. The airlines with their own certified security personal can avail the X-Ray facility at export cargo terminal
Today, the BACC has a combined storage area of nearly two lakh Sq.ft. from an initial 41,000 Sq.Ft. To facilitate the export of floriculture products, MSIL, in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), has setup a state of the art Cold Storage Plant of 20 MTs capacity.

This compact unit has the latest hydraulic work station to facilitate damage free palletisation of the fragile cargo.

The future years will see increased warehousing space and improved infrastructural facilities.

Clearance :
Cargo can be cleared within the shortest possible time upon production of proper documents by the importer or his Custom House Agent (CHA). All parcels/cargo would necessarily require Customs verification/clearance. The Accounts Department is fully computerised which enables quick computation of charges payable. Message Exchange between Customs and the Custodian has been established which has facilitated faster clearance of cargo. The general cargo clearance takes place from 8.30 a.m to 10.00 p.m, but in certain circumstances, clearance of cargo is allowed beyond 10 p.m with the permission of Customs. Facilities for immediate clearance of perishable cargo exist at the complex.
